High temperature black liquid primer for professional engines
The high temperature primer for car and motorcycle engines is a professional product that is used to guarantee maximum durability of the paints over time. In fact, the primer, in addition to having an extreme adhesive power, higher than that of the paint itself, contains anti-oxidant agents which prevent the formation of rust and scale both on iron and on light alloys such as aluminium.
- Ready to use, it must not be diluted or catalysed
- Direct adhesion on all metals and plastics
- High anti-oxidant power over the years
- Blocks and prevents the formation and advancement of oxides and rust
- Protects the metal from the corrosive action of time and external agents
- Extends the life of the paintwork up to 10 years
- It cannot be used instead of paint because it is not resistant to petrol
- Improves the aesthetic quality of the final painting
- It is used before applying the paints at high engine temperatures
- This primer can be used on any part of the bike even if it is not the engine
Petrol resistance and drying
Primer is petrol resistant but not as good as paint so don't plan on using it as a paint
The engine paints are resistant to petrol already after two hours even if it is very cold outside but absolutely avoid subjecting them to this stress before 6/7 hours
You can assemble the parts or use the bike two hours after applying these paints, but pay attention to contact with oil and grease
Equipment
If you use the liquid version we advise you
Pressure between 1.5 and 2.5 bar
Nozzle gun between 1 and 1.3
Application
1 Shake the spray or can for one minute
If the liquid version is used, the gun pressure is 1.5 maximum 2 bar, do not dilute and do not catalyze, it is a high temperature product and must be used as supplied
2 Apply the first light coat and without waiting switch to the first full coat
3 Wait 10 minutes maximum 15 and apply the second full coat always without exaggerating
4 Wait 30 minutes
5 Begin painting with the finish coat you have chosen to apply without sanding the primer
6 Apply a coat of varnish lightly and immediately without waiting for a full coat
7 Wait 5 to 15 minutes and apply the second full coat of paint
8 If you have chosen the Textured paint, start applying light coats to obtain a rough effect
9 If you have chosen the matt or glossy paint, wait 12 hours for maximum petrol resistance
10 If you have chosen the wrinkle paint, go to the product sheet to read the special instructions
Drying
No oven needed
You don't need the temperature
They dry at room temperature even if it's cold
Do not apply them if you are at 5/6/7 degrees, the cold is fine but common sense is the best technical suggestion that can be given.
The ideal temperature is from 15 degrees upwards but if you are below 10 degrees they work, you can also help them by heating the pieces a little with a body shop heat gun
