The first thing to do if you have never used it is to call the technician on 3342272665
Wrinkle paint produces a special effect called the wrinkle effect.
It is the paint with the original effect that is applied on Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini engines.
It is used with the use of a heat source as indicated in the instructions below.
Characteristics:
- Paint for engines and any mechanical or furnishing component
- Applicable on plastic, metals and light alloys, aluminium, iron, etc
- Resistant to petrol, oil, thinners after proper drying
- Dry at room temperature
- Wrinkles only with heat and does not work when cold
- Must be used with its primer for maximum resistance performance
- Adheres to metals and plastics but its resistance without the use of a primer is severely limited.
DISCLAIMER
The wrinkle finish is a paint that can be used for a maximum of 12 months from the production date.
For this reason you must know that we build your paint only when you order it and it is a handmade product.
Every time we produce the paint it is tested by Christian Bertolini himself to ensure that its functionality is perfect.
If you use it and it doesn't work it's impossible, we won't accept any complaints and it won't be refunded or changed as it is a handcrafted product made on the customer's order.
HOW TO USE:
Wrinkle isn't a product for everyone, it's not complex to use but if you don't follow the instructions to the letter then forget it and don't buy it.
If you are a hobbyist know that we do not recommend using it
If you are a hobbyist and want to use it anyway, then buy an extra product and before using it, do some tests and before doing them, call 3342272665, talk to the technician and have him explain what you have to do and how you have to do it.
WE BEGIN THE PAINTING
Wrinkle paint only guarantees its particular shape if you apply it over its primer. Furthermore, the primer protects the metal and does not cause it to oxidize over time.
1 Let's first apply the special wrinkle primer on whatever object you want to apply the wrinkle paint.
2 Shake the spray or swirl the primer well
3 The primer is applied with a light first coat and one or two heavier coats, every 15 minutes. In the end we wait 30 minutes for it to rest before starting to apply the wrinkle paint or other paints, in fact remember that this primer is universal and is good for all the engine paints we produce.
4 Warning you can wait up to an hour maximum to over paint the primer without sanding it.
5 Now let's start applying the wrinkle paint and to do this we shake the spray or mix the paint well in the can.
6 The wrinkle paint does not need to be diluted and does not need to be catalysed, you must use it exactly as it is delivered to you. If you try to modify or dilute or catalyze it, it won't work anymore.
7 If you are using liquid paint, use a normal nozzle gun with a minimum of 0.8 and a suggested maximum of 1.4 at a pressure between 1.5 and 2.5 bar. The pressure changes based on how big the part is and how big the nozzle is. To get the right size, follow the table:
2 full coats very small wrinkle or bad wrinkle
3 full coats standard wrinkle
4 full coats large wrinkle
NOTE: the real original vintage or contemporary wrinkle is obtained only with the version called WRINKLE XL and 3/4 hands with a 1.3 nozzle.
FROM THIS MOMENT DO EXACTLY WHAT YOU READ
8 Apply a medium coat, neither too full nor too light and wait 15 minutes at room temperature, if instead you are in summer wait 5 minutes.
9 Apply hand number 1 charged. The word loaded means a very wet, very full hand, for you to understand the piece must appear super mirror polished.
If it doesn't look like this you've made a mistake but don't worry, just apply another little paint carefully until the piece looks shiny. Obviously try not to leak.
10 Wait 15 minutes before applying coat number 2 exactly as we did with the first.
11 Wait 15 minutes always at room temperature and apply hand number 3 as you did with hand number 2, the technique must never change.
If you want to apply coat number 4, read on, if you think 3 coats are fine, stop and wait 30/40 minutes at room temperature before starting to heat it.
OPTIONAL LAST COAT
Coat number 4 is not mandatory but you can apply it if you want a very large wrinkle. You can only understand this if before doing the job you did some tests and you already know how the wrinkle paint works.
So before starting to paint the real piece, do some tests.
12 Wait 15 minutes after hand number 3 still at room temperature and apply hand number 4, now stop and wait 30/40 minutes at room temperature before starting to heat it.
HEAT THE PAINT
To make the paint wrinkle you have to heat it by force, if you leave it at room temperature it dries but it doesn't wrinkle.
THERMAL GUN
On medium pieces like valve covers this is the best technique.
Use the bodywork heat gun at medium power and bring the substrate to a temperature of 65/70 degrees. Try to heat evenly.
If you can't do it on your own, get a friend to help you and heat the piece in two so that the heat is even
SMALL OVEN
Use a small oven, like the domestic ones, put the piece inside and raise the temperature from zero up to 80 degrees and wait until everything is wrinkled, then turn off the oven and wait 24/72 hours
CARRIER'S OVEN
We do not recommend it and it is not good for us but you can try bringing it to 80 degrees
INFRARED LAMPS
It is certainly an excellent choice but you need to know how to use it and in any case as soon as the piece is all wrinkled you have to turn off the heat source otherwise the wrinkle changes, in general we do not recommend it unless you are real experts or have done many tests.
